Editorial Consultation: $65/hour
This option involves my providing editorial feedback and consultation on your writing, but with you doing the writing, revisions, and edits based on my feedback. (In other words, I help you with your writing and editing, but you revise your own work.) This service includes:
- Initial Consultation (Free)
- Written editorial feedback on drafts
- Post-feedback discussion and planning meetings

What does “Editorial Consultation” Mean?
“Editorial Consultation”means that, basically, you do the bulk of the writing and revising of your project, and I provide written and verbal consultation and
feedback to help steer your writing toward your goals.
During our initial consultation, you can tell me what your project, goals, audience, and timeline are, and the scope of help you’re looking for. If you decide to work with me,
we create a rough schedule for writing and submitting drafts to me
for feedback, and post-draft meetings. Typically I will ask you to
send me a draft to read and give feedback on in advance of meeting,
and then we will meet for me to explain any written feedback and
discuss your plans for revising and editing, as well as any questions
you have about feedback.
Typically I will ask you to give me at
least three days of reading/editing time for each draft (although I’m
typically able to work with you if you are on a tighter schedule than
that). I will write comments or notes on your draft, and then we’ll
meet to discuss this feedback and plan revisions. We can continue to
revise drafts and meet to discuss your work until you are satisfied
with your outcome.
Please note: Please do not plan to bring drafts of work to meetings and expect me to read and provide feedback during that meeting unless your document is less than a page long.
You are billed both for the editorial meetings as well as time spent
reviewing and writing feedback on your draft. For reference, I can
typically read and edit about 10 double-spaced pages per hour (or,
about 2,500 words). Billing is done by 15-minute increments. (So for
example, if it takes me 71 minutes to read and provide feedback on
your document, you would be charged for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or
$81.25.
